Build Around Abilities and Woven Attacks
Your Predecessor Wukong build starts with making every landing count. Combine his stance abilities with basic attacks to keep dealing damage while slowing, stunning, and repositioning enemies. That rhythm matters because his kit gives you plenty to do between swings.
Wukong is an Expert-difficulty hero with Jungle and Offlane roles. His technical demands come from connecting movement, stance changes, and crowd control while keeping your target within reach.
Keep these priorities in mind when shaping your build:
- Use the attack-speed bonus after Pole Vault. Follow your ability setup with basic attacks whenever the target stays accessible.
- Keep abilities in the rotation. Avoid building entirely around attack speed and spending extended stretches only swinging.
- Practice attack cancels. Weave attacks between your abilities rather than rushing through every button without landing them.
- Match your augment to your combo. For a height-focused approach, consider the augment that supports his vertical damage setup.
The goal is a repeatable sequence: reach the target, land your damage, control their movement, and reposition for the next exchange.

Practice Wukong’s Main Combo
Pole Vault, bound to Q in the keyboard controls discussed here, sets up Wukong’s E damage and grants attack speed. His right-click dash provides a slow, while his kit also includes a projectile-absorbing defensive tool that leads into a stun and a punch that repositions enemies.

Practice this sequence:
- Open with Q and use your double jump. Build height before committing to the descending attack.
- Follow with E. Connect the drop with your target.
- Land a basic attack. Take advantage of the attack-speed window instead of immediately abandoning your attacks.
- Slide after the retreating enemy. Apply the slow to continue the chase.
- Look for the stun. Chain your control when the target remains within reach.
- Finish with a repositioning punch. Push the enemy toward teammates when they can follow up.
Treat that sequence as a practice pattern. Adjust it to the enemy’s movement rather than forcing the entire chain after they escape.
If your target still has Blink, hold your follow-up until you see where they land. Committing everything before their escape leaves you chasing with fewer options. Likewise, when E is unavailable, use Q’s attack-speed bonus to keep pressure on an accessible target.
Use Height for Damage and Escapes
Wukong’s E deals more damage from greater height. Vertical movement therefore contributes directly to his damage setup, alongside letting him approach from unusual angles.

Use elevated terrain to prepare an engage, then descend onto a target you can actually reach. When choosing the augment that supports this interaction, practice the complete aerial sequence so you can convert that height into a connected hit.
Nimbus also matters when leaving a fight. Start the escape in Nimbus form, then follow with Q to gain additional vertical reach. Practice the timing: a slow transition can leave your follow-up low enough for ranged enemies to keep attacking.
Keep these movement habits consistent:
- Approach from height when preparing your descending E.
- Use walls and changes in elevation to create flank routes.
- Plan your exit before dropping into several enemies.
- Reposition after your opening combo instead of remaining surrounded.
Play Jungle and Offlane Around Flanks
Use Jungle and Offlane as your starting roles while learning Wukong’s stance changes. Both are listed roles for him, and both let you work on turning movement into favorable engagements.

In offlane, practice connecting your opening damage with basic attacks, then using the slow and stun to control the next exchange. Watch your opponent’s escape before committing the repositioning punch.
From jungle, look for routes that place you beside or behind a vulnerable enemy. Wukong’s vertical movement opens opportunities to approach around terrain, but the landing still needs a reachable target.
In teamfights, look for a squishy backline target and an angle outside the enemy’s immediate focus. Avoid spending your entire sequence on a tank while vulnerable damage dealers remain accessible. Consider an isolated tank when teammates can help finish the catch.
Use the punch with your team’s position in mind. Send a caught enemy toward allied damage, then weave in attacks while your control holds them nearby.
